Expanding God's Kingdom Through Church Planting
Using a biblical, strategic plan, this book presents a dynamic, effective plan for planting churches. It presents God's heart for kingdom expansion planting local churches. Herron discusses characteristics and methods of successful church planters. He thoroughly diagrams how a potential church planter can survey a community with the intent of developing a heart for the community, how to plan strategically, and how to pray strategically. Also included are keys to effective church planting strategic planning, gathering the core group, reaching the lost, structuring for disciple-making, and developing leaders. Common pitfalls are also discussed. "Expanding God's Kingdom Through Church Planting" is a book to be read, reread and shared. It deserves a "front row seat" on a bookshelf. Herron writes, "This book was written to provide a high-quality guidebook for church planters, churches that plant churches, schools that teach church planting, and denominational or post-denomination leaders that over church planting."
  Fred Herron
Houses that Change the World
Millions of Christians around the world are becoming aware of an imminent reformation of global proportions within the Church. God is changing this revered institution and is making a new collective awareness of an age-old revelation, a corporate spiritual echo that reflects God's desire for the Church. In this book, Wolfgang Simson brings to light what God is saying to Christians everywhere. Researched across the globe, he presents the case for the reformation of the Church's existence. In a world where the Church is being ignored, it is time to bring the Church to the people, and not the people to the Church. Whether it is what we know as 'Church' from the last five years or last five hundred year, no one has truly been able to break free from the structures of the past. Many may see this book as radical, many may see it as a reforming of old ideals, but all who read it will be challenged in their Churching and have their priorities refocused in a life-changing way.
  Wolfgang Simson

Missionary Methods: St. Paul's or Ours?
This classic study of Paul's missionary work focuses not on the apostle's doctrine or character but on the method by which he accomplished his task. Throughout, Allen compares Paul's methods to modern missionary methods; he concludes by suggesting some ways the apostolic method might be usefully employed today.

Natural Church Development: A Guide to Eight Essential Qualities of Healthy
Schwarz does an extensive scientific study on what makes churches grow. The research shows 8 quality characteristics of a healthy (and therefore a growing) church: Loving Relationships, Empowering Leadership, Need-Oriented Evangelism, Functional Structures, Holistic Small Groups, Inspiring Worship Service, Passionate Spirituality and Gift Oriented Ministry. As a Pastor I found the information contained in this book to be extremely helpful as it caused me to concentrate on the minimum factor in our church. There is a corresponding survey that must be taken to get full use out of the research and help you identify what your strengths and weaknesses are in your church. If you don't think scientific research can be effective at measuring intangible things like spirituality, or spiritual gifts then this book is not for you.

Pagan Christianity
The Origins of Our Modern Church Practices
  Frank Viola
Planting New Churches in a Postmodern Age
On a per capita basis, new churches win more people to Christ than established churches.... "So, if we know that new churches reach more people, and if we value reaching the unchurched, we must agree with C. Peter Wagner that, ‘The single most effective evangelistic methodology under heaven is planting new churches.’ Church planting is gaining new attention because it is a biblical method that works."
  Ed Stetzer
Rethinking the Wineskin
In "Rethinking The Wineskin", Frank Viola takes a ground-breaking look at the nature and life of the early church through the lense of God's eternal purpose. The book discusses the principal practices that marked the New Testament church and boldly compares them to those of today's modern church. A must read for all who have a passion to see first-century ways restored to the Body of Christ today.
  Frank Viola
SoulTsunami
The book's title comes from the Japanese word for a tidal wave that sweeps away all that it encounters; Sweet's thesis is that the present postmodern culture is advancing on churches, as it has on business, education and other areas of life, with comparable great force and speed.
  Leonard Sweet
Starting a New Church
Ralph Moore writes from over 20 years of successful church multiplication. This is not a book of theory. Its valuable insights come from wisdom forged in the crucible of real experience. If you are a church planter, a parent church pastor or a denominational supervisor of church planters this book is a must read!

The Celtic Way of Evangelism
How Christianity Can Reach the West...Again
  George Hunter
The Emerging Church
Around 25 years ago the evangelical church underwent a shift with the arrival of seeker-style churches. A whole generation of baby-boomers resonated with that approach and the movement was used greatly by God. But now there are rumblings around the country that the generations of teens, twenties, and thirties have changing perceptions and preferences. Some of the very "spiritual" things that were removed from church are the very things that post-Christian generations are connecting with and finding attractive in a church.

The Safest Place On Earth
In today's frenetic society, people rarely develop intimate friendships. Instead, they spend their lives essentially disconnected from others, rushing through life content with brief visits and casual conversations. But what if one were to develop a community, a spiritual community, of people who walked with and supported each other through life's journey? A community of real friends who listened to each other's personal tragedies without merely trying to fix the problems, who encouraged and nurtured each others strengths, and who accepted people for who they really are, instead of the image they try to portray. In The Safest Place on Earth, Larry Crabb explores such a place, where God can heal disconnected people and allow them to reconnect with each other and, ultimately, with Him.
